Class 5

Welcome back everybody; I hope you all had a lovely Easter holiday! Our history unit for this half term is Early Islamic Civilisation. We will be mostly focusing on the artefacts, which give us an indication on how the Early Islamic civilisations functioned, and how their innovations are so important even today. Our geography unit will be Fair Trade. We will look the distributions of resources and how food comes from around the world to end up on our plates. Finally, we will debate if Fair Trade is something we want even if it raises consumer prices.  Our science units are evolution and inheritance and animals including humans.  Below, the knowledge organiser summarises what we will be studying.

We have two PE days this term. These are Thursday and Friday for us. As usual, children will come into school in their PE kits please.

Homework will be set on Fridays, and it will include spellings, some maths questions based on  the week's learning and reading. We are expecting each child to read 8 times over a two week period, and these need to be recorded in their diaries. Homework is due on Wednesday, with the spelling and times tables test taking place on the Friday of that week.
