Welcome to Class 5's page!
Welcome back class 5!
I hope you have all had an amazing summer holidays, and are relaxed, refreshed and ready for a new school year! Welcome back to all year 6, and welcome to all the year 5 children joining us. Together, I sure we will make a great team and have lots of fun!
Our topic is The Victorians – crime and punishment. This topic has a particular focus on the crime and punishment aspect of Victorian Britain, and how that compares to Britain today. Check out knowledge orgainiser below, where you will see an overview of where we will be going with the topic. We will look to study our topic in as many curriculum areas as possible. This will mean that you should expect to learn about the Victorians in maths right through to D&T and art.
I first science unit of the year is called 'animals including humans'. Below, there will also be a knowledge organiser, showing what we will be studying for this half term.
Homework will be given out every Friday, and it will include spellings and times tables. The times table will be in the form of times tables rock stars. So, it is important that you bring your reading diary home each week, where you have written in your log in details. I will also be checking that you have logged in, so please make sure you do at some point over the weekend! Homework will be due in on Wednesdays, ready for a spelling and times tables test on Friday.
PE is on 1 afternoon this term, but for the whole afternoon. We will have PE all Thursday afternoon, so please wear PE kits in to school on that day.
Any questions, please ask!
I am looking forward to working with you all again, and excited to see what the year brings!
Mr Teuchmann and Mrs Toase
