'There is no lift to success. You have to take the stairs.'
Welcome back Year 6!
Happy Easter! I hope you all had a great Easter, balancing both fun and some revision. With SATs only being 3 weeks away (8th - 11th May), I hope you will all be refreshed and ready to hit the ground running. SATs club will continue to take place every Tuesday after school (3.20 pm - 4.30 pm). Well done for your commitment last term...only 3 more weeks left!
Our topic this term is 'Victorians', a history topic which will enable us to learn about a very important period in our history where BIG changes happened. Through all areas of the curriculum, we will explore Victorian literature, typical Victorian schools, inventors, developments in transport, artists who worked during this period and, very importantly, Queen Victoria herself. You will soon see what an exciting and pivotal period in history it was!
All children have their own revision programme to follow, which involves practice papers in Reading, Maths and GAPs. Following SATs, most homework will be topic-based and will be given on out on Fridays and will be due in on Thursdays. In preparation for secondary school, we will expect pupils to adhere to this deadline closely.
P.E. will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; P.E. kit needs to be in school at all times.
Believe in yourself and always give your best; your best is always good enough. And don't forget to enjoy your last term at Hartland Primary School!
