'There is no lift to success. You have to take the stairs.'
Happy New Year to you all! We hope you had a fantastic Christmas and a relaxing, fun-filled holiday. This term is our last full term before SATs and we expect you to come in fresh and ready to learn every day. Last term you all made great progress and I have no doubt you will continue to put in lots of hard work to continue moving onwards and upwards!
Our topic this term is 'Farm to Fork', chosen for its range of potential across the curriculum. Through this topic we will look at where our food comes from and food miles, farming and the environment, the development of modern farming techniques and the future of farming, the seasonality of food and many more exciting themes.
As Year 6s our job is to prepare you for secondary school as best we can, so we expect all homework to be brought in on time, all letters to be returned by the necessary date and for you to read daily. Homework will be sent out on a Friday and must be returned by the following Thursday.
SATs club will be on a Tuesday (until 4.15pm) and all Year 6s are strong encouraged to attend. In previous years we have had 100% attendance from Year 6 pupils.
P.E. will continue to be on Tuesdays and Fridays; school P.E. kit needs to be in school at all times.
We believe everyone of you can continue to make great progress and this requires your continued dedication and focus. So remember, a little bit of revision every day will make all the difference!
Thank you to all the adults who came to learn and explore with the Year 6 children for our INSPIRE MORNING. We all know lots about the chilli pepper, how to cook with it and how the Mayans used it in their civilisation. Our fajita recipes are ready to be used...photos of our cooking session to follow!
